Why a Toowoomba roofer

Three things every Toowoomba roof job should get right.

We build for the Darling Downs hail belt.

Toowoomba isn’t a coastal climate — it’s an elevated range city that copes a punishing spring and summer storm season. The October 2017 supercell dropped golf-ball hail and damaged more than 1,500 homes across the eastern range in around fifteen minutes, and barely a season passes without a severe-storm warning over the Downs. That means ridge capping, flashings and roof sheets here take a beating most southern roofs never see. We fix and fit for it: properly bedded and flexible-repointed capping that won’t lift, wind-rated sheet fixing to AS 1170.2, and a preference for impact-tough materials on the most exposed elevations.

Repair when we can, replace when we should.

Plenty of roofs we look at don’t need replacing — they need a leak chased, a run of cracked tiles swapped, the ridge lines re-bedded, or a tired but sound surface restored. So that’s what we quote. We don’t talk a homeowner into a $30,000 reroof when a $4,000 restoration buys another decade. But we also won’t band-aid a roof that’s genuinely failed — rust perforated, tiles delaminating, battens rotten — because a patch on a dead roof is money down the gutter. You get the honest call.

Cracking-clay soils stress your roof from below.

Much of Toowoomba and the Downs sits on reactive black-soil clays that swell and shrink with the seasons. That movement works its way up through the structure, stressing the roof frame and opening up the hairline cracks in tiles and the gaps in rigid mortar pointing that let water in. It’s why we use flexible pointing rather than brittle sand-cement on ridge and hip lines — it moves with the building instead of cracking off it — and why we look at the whole roof, not just the leak you called about.

How it works

From your call to a finished roof — 5 stages.

1

Your call

Phone or online quote request. For a storm leak or hail damage we prioritise the make-safe — we’ll get a tarp on and the water stopped fast.

2

On-roof inspection

We get up there and look properly — tiles, ridge lines, flashings, valleys, sheets, gutters. Photos of anything you can’t see from the ground.

3

Honest written quote

A clear scope and fixed price. Repair, restore or replace — we tell you which one your roof actually needs, and why. Insurance scope if it’s a claim.

4

The work

Tidy, code-compliant work to AS 1562.1 / AS 1170.2 with proper height safety. Most repairs in a day; restorations 2–4 days; reroofs 1–2 weeks.

5

Sign-off & clean-up

We clean up every tile, screw and offcut, walk you through what was done, and provide the documentation you need for insurance or resale.
